Crochet!

I've finally got the hang of crochet by following the amazing pattern of Lucy from Attic 24. I absolutely love it. It's made of Debbie Bliss DK Cotton and it came together really quickly. I'm totally addicted now and have plans for a bedspread...

I also made a teddy, hereafter known as wonky teddy, cause he is just a tad. He's tiny and just sits in a hand. Made from a pattern here.

Buttons & Beads

I've not been playing with paper these last few weeks. I have a sudden need to try something new and different. I got my beads out and got hold of some buttons off ebay. I went a bit bead crazy a few years ago and luckily they don't go off. Here's my new bracelet, a mix of czeck and indian glass.
This is my first button necklace, I'm going to take it apart and thread it onto something a bit stronger, I just don't think that the clear beading thread is going to take the weight. This mark two one is on a cotton cord. Much stronger. I still need to work on the technique but I love the shape when it's on.
Long weekends of crafting... bliss :)

2 days late

Yes I'm late again, but since DCM is all about having fun, it's not a crisis. This is my interpretation of Kathy's recepie dare this week. A really fun set of ingredients: buttons, 3 papers, chipboard, ribbons, and my extra, a Basic Grey rubbon and as I've only just realised, the Papermania turny things- eeeek broke the rules. All papers are Basic Grey Urban Prarie. I do actually have papers other than Basic Grey believe it or not, it's just they arent quite as scrumptious. Now if only I was on commission...

We went away last weekend to Keilder in Northumberland, for a break from the old routine and to see this sculpture by James Turrell. Google him, he's done some amazing stuff. The skyspace was amazing, even if it was dreich and dull, and well worth the jaunt up the hill, and back down in the rain. What was it Billy Connoly said... "There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes"

All things Circular!

This was actually finished on time... honest, but I didn't get up in time to get a pic in the daylight before work! BG Granola loveliness and my new Fiskars Threading water punch with a Purple Onion Stamp! Happy Friday :)

Fish or Frog

What a fab dare from Rein this week, it really got mybrain cells whirring. I ended up playing about with some dingbat fonts in Photoshop to make this little picture, cute eh! The fonts are Tombats 7 for the cat, Eller for the two fish and Komika Bubbles for the thought bubble. Thanks to the designers of the fonts who share them for free, they're all easily findable with a quick google search.

I watercoloured the image, matched it with these gorgeous Basic Grey Offbeat papers and added a slip of ribbon. Yum :)

All is well here, the nights are geting lighter and it's FRIDAY!!!! Have a great weekend.

Green

Spot the difference. It's easy to see I changed the owls a bit, they were just a bit too green!
Owl stamps by Stamps Away, basic grey paper & chipboard. Scallop cut from a BG card kit, which I go cheap on Do-crafts a wee while ago, same with the choccy coloured letters.

Once more in Pink & Green

3 more papers on this one for Lythan's dare, made for my fabulous friend on a very special day. I haven't braved the 3 different manufacturers yet, still warming up!
All papers Basic Grey Sultry, American Crafts Thickers, velvet ricrac, spotty ribbon and lace from stash, Impression Obsession Happy Birthday stamp & K&Co little 30 stamps from a mini alpha set.
The greens match better in real life but as the photo was taken on a very dull day I had to do a little photoshoping to make the colours more realistic.

3 patterned papers

A fabby dare from Lythan. I used delicious Basic Grey Ambrosia papers, stamps by Purple Onion and Papermania paper frills. The scallopy-ish shape was freehand cut, stamped on the back with big brackets stamps to get the shape. It's nice to be back daring :)

Happy New Year!

I am still on the planet, just a bit busy!

Here's a Happy New Year card I made with Basic Grey Ambrose, 7gypsies buckle, papermania paper lace and ribbon from a set, the manufacturer of which escapes me right now! I do love these gorgeous colours, it's just a shame I had to use the camera flash as it was taken on a gloomy day. Roll on spring...

This second one is Basic Grey Sultry, Bo Bunny spotty ribbon and a papermania flower and button, more delicious colours.
