Flat as a pancake

No not physically...but mentally. After the initial excitement of getting a job interview Im now beginning to panic about it. How will I cope, what am I going to wear, what if I have a panic attack at the interview, could I do the job anyway? Argh, I hate my head.

Thanks for all your lovely comments though, its amazing anyone wants to read my drivel at all!

At least its a lovely sunny day, Im going to try and distract myself from all this negative stuff and do something a bit more interesting.

Exciting news and I've been Tagged

My exciting news is........................ Ive got an interview for the job I applied for! Whoohooo! Im dead chuffed, and fairly nervous already but its good to know Ive got this far. Of course I want the job but Im going to try not to set my sights too high just for the moment. And of course I need to interview them to see if theyre the kind of place I want to work too ; ) Its not for ages yet but I'm sure I'll keep you up to date on my nervousness-ometer!

Ok so its not earth shatteringly exciting like winning the lottery or finding those beautiful papers you forgot you bought, but its big for me so Im going to shout about it.

Ive been pondering these questions from Maggie...

1. Which famous person would you most like to know you descended from?

I think I'd like to be descended from Charles Rennie Mackintosh or William Morris. Both were inspirational designers and craftspeople and it'd be nice to know I got some crafty genes from someone who inspires me with work that still looks fresh today

2. Which famous person would you hate to learn you are descended from?

Saffa's already said George W Bush and I have to agree, that would be awful

3. If you could be an ancestor to any famous living person who would it be and why?

Phillipe Stark. It'd be great if he was my uncle and I could pop round and see his studio and the projects he's working on and chat about it. Maybe some of his product design flair would rub off on me, or at least I could get some of his furniture as a freebie!

4. If you could go back in time and meet any known ancestor who would it be and why?

It would have to be my Great Grandad, My dad's mum's dad, who lived in Aberdeen. I'd like to see what living in a place I lived for years was like more than 100 years ago

Update of this last week

Well my daily posting didn't last long did it! Here's why...

I had a great weekend last weekend but it left me so tired and worn out. On friday we (me and my OH) went up to Aberdeen for a friends birthday night out. I made her a notebook with her name on it and she loved it! (forgot to take a photo -Doh!) It was great fun and I opted to drive so I had a great excuse not to be pestered into drinking. I know it sounds really dull but it just doesn't agree with me and Im much happier with my Orange Juice and lemonade. Then, well past my usual bedtime, we went to a nightclub. Now I haven't been to a nightclub for years and years but still managed to bump into folk I knew, some of them were a little worse for wear though. It was great to be out and have a dance and it was lovely being out in places with the smoking ban. Its the first time Ive been out since it was introduced and its so clean. The only drawback is that half the place is stood on the street chatting and smoking and inside you can smell the sweaty students BO ewwwwww.

Anyway I can't keep up these days and was so knackered the next day, (Clubs are open til 3am now!) but at least I didn't have a hangover like everyone else. *smug*

On Saturday in the day I went and found the paper mill place in Aberdeen, Yum yum, lots of lovely boxes of shimmery card and paper and a better selection than the paper mill shop in tillycoutry.

Saturday evening was catching up with a friend who's over from France then Sunday was getting the house tidy cause my Dad and Stepmum were coming to stay on monday for the night.

Luckily that all passed without any events, arguments or even dissagreements. A big PHEW!

Then I was busy with work so that my dear blog readers bring us up to date to this morning. May I be excused for missing a whole week in blogland please?

I have been tagged by Maggie
and have some other exciting news but I shall do that in another post later. Nothing like a bit of suspense eh, teehee.

Over and out!

Not a lot to say

Well today I didn't achieve half the things I hoped I would and just got boring stuff done, but hey-ho, thats the way it goes sometimes. Theres been a big competition announcement on Carolyns today though which is inspiring. It'll be a great excuse to do some crafting just for me and not think about selling it or teaching the techniques. Totally indulgent crafting and I need to set time aside for that to keep myself (relatively) sane!

A great day

Today I tought my first ever pottery class and after being quite nervous about it, it went really well. There was lots of mess, which is just how it should be when you're throwing on the wheel, and everyone who came along seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. So same again next week. I already tutor other crafts but pottery was a first and although Ive done pottery as part of my design and Craft degree Im no professional potter. Still, this class is about having fun first and if you make something thats a bonus. Lots of smiles all round and plenty of references to Ghost and the Generation Game, hehe!

Crafts are a fantastic thing. When I see someone make something they never thought they could, it gives me a real feeling of satisfaction. I really love being a craft tutor, sharing crafts with other people and encouraging them to have a go. Then when they do better than they thought they would they're so proud and its priceless. Oh Im gushing, how embarassing! Well at least I love my job now, theres been plenty I haven't.

Anyway, I think today is the day to go public and share my blog with the world, you never know, I might even get some pics to show you tomorrow, thats if I can figure out how to do it... don't hold your breath!
